Sundance - 4 Tickets to the top, please!

Yesterday afternoon we decided to go on a little adventure - to Sundance and a ride to the top of the mountain. Scott has a season pass already for mountain biking and the kids were free, so we actually only had to pay for one ticket! It was a great ride.

Honestly, a little nerve racking with the kids and only a very small lap bar between us and a free fall to certain death. Ethan hardly holds still during one hour of sacrament meeting, did we really think he would sit still for the ride? My stomach kept lurching every couple of minutes when he would squirm on my lap or try to change between mine and Scott's lap. But, as you can see, I am here writing this blog and no one is in the hospital or dead so all four of us made it through in one piece.

Marley was so funny - we told her that we were going to go up the mountain for a ride and Scott was explaining the contraption that would take us there. He was talking about our feet dangling off the edge and in her head she got it confused with our legs being "tangled" instead of "dangled" and that kind of freaked her out a little. She actually worked herself up quite a bit, asking all about our feet getting tangled, if we were going to get hurt and saying she absolutely did not want to go. We kept saying "don't worry about it, you'll see" and explaining that it's not what she thinks but she wouldn't let it go. As you can see, our feet are dangling, not tangling and we are all ok. Of course, Scott had to pick her up and hold her as we set ourselves down on the lift. But once we were in the air everything was just fine!

As you can see, there were pictures of us going up the lift, at the top of the mountain, but none coming down the lift. I tried to capture of the beauty of the mountain and the spectacular views of the descent ... but Ethan wanted to jump off our laps the whole way down and I was a bit busy holding onto him for dear life!
