Mr. Fix It

It's time for me to do a little bragging about my awesome handy-man husband...

Last night we noticed it was getting a little cold in our house, we checked the furnace and it said it was on but it wasn't working! So at 9 o'clock at night our furnace was out! To make matters worse, or slightly more comical, my dad was in town from ARIZONA and staying at our house for the night. He is normally cold at our house when the furnace IS working!

Scott immediately starts checking into it. He takes a couple of things apart and figures out exactly which part was broken. He looks it up online and sees that the part itself only costs about $30. Then he starts making some calls. The first place could come and fix it immediately ... but would charge around $200. Well, Scott just can't stomach it since he knows the part is only $30 so he makes a couple more calls and finds someone (his old primary school teacher) to sell him the part in the morning for cost. So we bundled up my dad the best we could and put space heaters in all the rooms and went to bed. The next day we got the part and Scott put it in at lunch. Crisis averted!

A couple of weeks ago, my Jeep was shifting funny. I had a sick stomach, thinking for sure it was the transmission! So Scott takes it to a friend to read the error code on the car's computer and found out it was only a broken fuse. He went to the auto parts store and, $25 later, the car was fixed. And you KNOW that if I had taken it to a mechanic they probably would have told me it was the transmission and charged me an arm and a leg!

He can fix any computer problem, fix my car, put window casings and baseboards and hardwood floors in the house, what CAN'T he do????

I have to say I really lucked out. He is one handy guy!

Isn't that such a blessing??? You've probably saved thousands of dollars because of that. Oh, you also forgot to mention that he can find really crazy deals for ANYTHING - from sunglasses to Spain. :)
